Her Table of Nostalgia - A passion project for 2026.
Food is often our first language of love, and for many women, it’s also the most enduring archive of memory. Her Table of Nostalgia is a storytelling photography series that celebrates women through generations whose recipes carry their histories — dishes passed down from their parents and then their parents or reimagined through recreation & preserved through cooking. Each story in this project centers around a woman and the meal that ties her to her roots: how her family & friends gets involved in the making, creating perhaps a dish that holds her grandmother’s voice, the smells of what reminds her of her homeland or even just time gone by and the nostalgia of a place/home she faintly remembers.
Set around intimate kitchen tables, the project explores food or drinks as a both ritual and what we remember about our experiences — how women translate belonging through ingredients, how heritage is kept alive in the hands that knead, stir, and serve. Through portraits, visuals that shows off the textures of the food, the written reflections, voice memos, this series weaves a visual narrative that honors the intersection of culture, identity, and emotion.
Ultimately, Her Table of Memories is about HER - Creating a space for women from all backgrounds to tell their stories about how food reminds them of home. It’s about connection — to lineage, to land, and to one another as a community — inviting viewers to sit at the table, listen, and taste the stories that women have carried across generations.
